在UBC附近是很有可能碰到教授們的~

不過能跟教授們去參加作者的新書簽名會和BOOK TALK，也讓人見識到Vancouver兒童文學的現況。

I bumped into 2 professors at SLAIS at a 7-Eleven near UBC. Professor Saltman and Professor Shoemaker teach Children's Materials and Illustrated Materials for Children this term. They are on the way to a book launch for Jack the Bear at a lyceum nearby. I am quite grateful to be asked to go to the book launch with them.

Godzilla Roll / 酷斯拉捲 @ a Sushi Restaurant in Vancouver

Cost: CAD$7.85 (with 15% tips)

Ingredients: Cooked Tuna, rice, seaweed (rolled together and fried)

Taste: 3 Stars (not bad for Canadian Sushi...but no very Japanese...)

1. Instant Udon (Got from University Village Market) / 快煮烏龍

3. Dried Seedweed (Brought from Taiwan) / 乾燥海帶芽

1. Check on the Internatioanl Affairs Office's website, to see what are needed for application.

2. Taking TOEFL exams:

    TOEFL or other language exams are required for application, one should take at least once before applying. Normally the application process starts in December, remeber to get your TOEFL results before it. Besides, great TOEFL scores will play a really important role while applying. Just make sure to excel in it.

3. Your average grades at NTU

    One's average grades at NTU also play an significant role in application.

4. Taking the auditions/exams by International Affairs Office

    Well, I am not sure whether this part really matters. Personally I did the exam badly, but my resume, TOEFL scores, and grade papers saved my life.

5. Sending out choices for schools if you lucky get past the audition.

     School choices depends on oneself and the limitations bounded by contracts between NTU and exchange schools. There is not much to talk about. Just choice as one wishes.

My first reason to apply for exchange is that I felt trapped. I've spent the past 6 years at NTU and it seems to be the same all the time. Furthermore, I can't figure out what I would like to do for my thesis. So I decided to grap a chance to change--to apply for exchange.

Before starting out, I checked the NTU International Affair Office's website about all the requirements to apply for the program and ask for some pieces of advice from a few friends who had exchange experience. I also do some googling to check out more about it.

Then, it comes the hard part--preparing for the documents and everything else.
