Double-Ten Day is known as the day when Republic of China is established in China. Republic of China or the KMT (Chinese Nationalist Party) retreated to Taiwan, after People's Republic China or the communists takes control of Mainland China. Taiwan was not part of China when Republic of China is established in 1911, it was ruled by Japanese government at that time.
Come to think about it, Double-Ten Day is never a day to celebrate since it does not stand for the day that Republic of Taiwan is established.
Regardless all the political issues, the fireworks are still worth seeing on Double-Ten Day. Unfortunately, since it's a long way from my dorm, I could only see those higher fireworks, and the buildings in front also blocked some view.
Sorry, my hands shaked without a tripod. But these two photos showed an interesting effects of fireworks.
Things get better after I ran for my small tripod. But the unfortunate part of using a tripod is that the buildings in the front looked more vivid than without one.
All the shots were taken using Sony HX5V with its firework scene setting.
