For a heavy coffe drinker like me, it's a huge cost to buy a medium coffee a day. It costs about CAD$2 to get a cup and sometimes it is not strong enough. To be just, their light coffees are much stronger than City Cafe coffee at the 7-Elevens in Taiwan. Those City Cafe coffees taste like water and I would never go back and buy from them.

Back in Taiwan, I normally get a bottle of instant coffee.

In Canada, I change to ground coffee since one can easily find them in supermarkets with a reasonable price. 2 cans of Nabob (326g tin) only cost CAD$7 when it's on sale at SaveOn Food. Besides, instant coffee cost more than ground coffee in Canadian supermarkets. The only down side of drip brew is that it takes much longer to make than instant coffee, but definitely with a much better taste.

Another reason for me to buy ground coffee instead is that one can find a variety of brands of roast and ground coffee in Canadian supermarkets while there is only a limited selection of instant coffee.

The only problem for me right now (after I got back in Taiwan) is that I was wondering where to get great ground coffee with reasonable prices since I've fallen in love with drip brew coffee.

Some introduction on Nabob, my favorite Canadian ground coffee:

Nabob is a pure Canadian brand. But it was purchased by Kraft in 1994. The company was established in 1896 in Vancouver, and is now the largest ground and roast coffee brand in Canada. I got a 900g tin of Maxwell for CAD$5.99 once. But the taste is horrible. The coffe turned sour and much bitter after it got cold. On the contrary, the scent of Nabob is much stronger than Maxwell. It would not got sour after going cold.

I first met Nabob while staying with the host family during the 2-day Penticton Trip. At that time, I didn't know Nabob is a Canadian brand. But its tasty Cappuccino had left me a great impression. Maybe it's the main reason I chose Nabob instead of other brands.
