It seems to be a long time that I made pasta. Pasta is easy and cheap to cook during my stay in Vancouver. Pasta sauce cost around 4 dollars each during sales. As for the past or spaghetti, they are much cheaper than rice or other kinds of noodles. I am grateful that I had the chance to study abroad and learn to cook since it was too expensive to dine out.

I didn't bought pots or pans in Taiwan, and it means extra costs to cook on stove since the dorm here charges extra fees for electricity to cook on the public kitchen's stove.

As an alternative, I used the rice cooker to cook for all my meals. The good thing is, I don't need extra expense and less or none cooking oil is needed. I can always get cheap fried things on campus if I really miss them.

Ingredients:

1. Fresh Tomatoes

Tomatoes these days are incredulously expensive. I only put a few of them in and add pasta sauce instead cooking from fresh ones.

2. Onions

3. Golden mushrooms

All right, I admitted that I put them in because they are on sale and cheap. It's definitely not a traditional ingredient for pasta.

4. Grounded Pork

5. Broccoli

A small note for myself, green ones are called broccoli, while white ones are called cauliflower.

6. Prego Past Sauce

7. pasta

How:

1. put boiling water into the bowl and the rice cooker.

2. add pasta and salt into the bowl.

3. cook with the rice cooker while chopping up the vegetables. (around 7 minutes or so)

4. put chopped vegetables and ground meat into another bowl, add some hot water.

5. cooked them with the rice cooker.

6. add pasta sauce into the mixture of vegetable soup.

7. combine cooked pasta with sauce.
