2012 杜鵑花節:臺大農場校友野趣苔球DIY &農場導覽

9:30-11:30AM, 10 March, 2012

I do appreciate the guided tour of the farm. The only downside of our tour guide was that he talked too much and didn't use his time effectively. After having attended numourous guided tours, I do feel that a guided tour around the farm is not just about burbling plant names. A tour could be more amusing with background stories and hands-on experience. Stop the whining and have a look at the gifts given.

戰利品 Trophies/gifts for attending the activity (all free)

Kokedama Bonsai: Buddhist Pine / Fern Pine (Kusamaki) 羅漢松苔球盆栽

Palfrey, J. & Gasser, U. (2008). Born Digital: Understanding the First Generation of Digital Natives. New York: Basic Books.

For more information about the book, visit: http://www.borndigitalbook.com

Some afterthoughts:

Born Digital is a book that covers almost all the topics concerning digital natives' behaviours and related issues that brought by the internet/computer era, especially from the perspective of law, information literacy, psychology and social science.

As one of among many that have been categorised as Digital Natives, reading the book is more about understanding my own generation, although I do feel like old timers comparing with some of those research subjects mentioned within.

I would strongly recommend those who has time to skim through the book, it does provide some interesting points of views to see how people and technology interact.

2nd Oct, 2011

Today's plan:

Lower East Side (for the free historic tour) → Times Square Visitor Center (for laying my hands on more information and coupons)

(The free historic tour is a definite go-for to understand to history of Lower East Side.)

The train station at Hicksville, NY, where I started my day during my stay in NY.

1 Oct, 2011

Today's schedule: a day in the city with my aunt, uncle and 2 cousins.

The Highline → Chelsea Market → Flushing Meadow Park

It's always great to visit relatives that lost contact for a long time. I'm very grateful for their hospitality and sparing their time to show me around.

30 Sept, 2011

After hours of flight from Vancouver, finally have my first sight of New York. If I am not mistaken, the flight flew over Long Island and the Statue of Liberty, finally landed on US soil at 9:30 AM on 30 Sept, 2011. But it's not untill 10:30AM that I was cleared out of the custom. Seriosly, I do feel like to be a Canadian at the moment since the officers would just put Canandian citizens in a different line, and they just passed through much faster.
