What's poutine? It's one of the must-eat food in Canada according to my room-mate Debbie. The first time I heard it, I kept wondering whether "pudding" is really something famous in Vancouver. Then, after some explanation, I finally figured out what it is. It's just fries topped with gravy and cheese, which priced about CAD$5 a plate in Taiwan.
Anyway, I got this plate at UBC SUB out of curiousity. It's much saltier that I had expected and not really something of my taste. Perhaps the dish would taste better if it hasn't gotten cold on the way back to SLAIS Lounge. I have to say, "curiosity would kill a cat," fortunately I am not one and survived the salty poutine.
Still, poutine is a way of life for people in Vancouver. On the blog, "Inside Vancouver," they even have an article discussing which is the best poutine in Vancouver.
